We live in a world that constantly tells us to hurry, accumulate, achieve, and stay connected. Our schedules are full, our minds are distracted, and our souls are tired. Yet Scripture invites us into a different way of life: “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

Be Still is a sermon series exploring ancient spiritual practices that help us slow down and become more attentive to the presence of God. Rather than adding more religious activity to already crowded lives, these practices invite us to create space for God to shape who we are becoming.

Throughout the series, we will explore practices such as Sabbath, simplicity, silence and solitude, and slowing. Each one challenges the hurried, distracted rhythms of our culture and teaches us to trust God more deeply. Sabbath reminds us that the world keeps turning when we stop. Simplicity teaches us that Christ is enough. Silence and solitude help us hear God amid the noise. Slowing teaches us to walk at the pace of Jesus.

Following Jesus is not simply about believing the right things. It is learning to arrange our lives around His presence so that, in an anxious and hurried world, we can truly be still.
