WHAT WE VALUE MOST AT NLCC
We will submit to God’s word
Scripture is our authority and the foundation from which our faith and practice flow. God’s Word shapes our beliefs, guides our decisions, and serves as the standard for all our ministries and the practice of our faith.
We will love strangers
Hospitality is our witness to a secular and pluralistic world. By loving those we do not know, we create opportunities to share the hope of Christ. We will seek to see people, recognize their needs, extend generosity when we are able, and invite them into the family of God.
We will seek Justice and love mercy
Our ministries and church culture will reflect God’s justice and mercy. When we encounter need, we will respond with grace and compassion. We believe justice means living under God’s rule, caring for the forgotten, and using our strength to serve the weak and vulnerable. Mercy is choosing compassion over condemnation and extending to others the same undeserved grace that God has generously given to us.
We will follow the Spirit’s leading
As a church, we will practice spiritual discernment, seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all we do. We will remain sensitive to His leading, willing to correct our course when we drift, and committed to holding one another accountable to God’s Word.
We will value every Generation
Every generation matters to God and, therefore, matters to us. We will cultivate a church where every generation is welcomed, discipled, and given meaningful opportunities to participate in the life, mission, and ministry of the church.
